WP5 - Simulations of the vocal tract

Finite element numerical simulation of diphthong /ai/ using realistic vocal tract geometries obtained from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). A train of glottal pulses is introduced at the vocal tract entrance (vocal folds), and the acoustic pressure evolution is captured at the mouth and transformed to an audio file so as to listen to the generated sound.

Vowels /a/, /i/ and /u/ are numerically generated by using 3D complex vocal tract geometries obtained from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
