WP6 - Articulation in replicas

WP6 has two main objectives. One is to increase our knowledge about certain dynamic aspects of sound production, such as the coordination between the glottal source and other aerodynamically generated sound sources, like plosives or fricatives (T6.3-4), which is seldom studied both theoretically and experimentally. The other main objective of WP6 is to provide accurate and detailed measurements of a highly controlled set-up to compare with the numerical simulations. Several mechanical replicas with movable elements will be built to do so (T6.1) and detailed acoustic measurement will be done for comparison with simulations of WP5 (T6.2). Information on vocal fold dynamics from WP3 will be incorporated, and measurement results will be used for a better understanding of the underlying physics and for comparison with the numerical simulations in WP4.
